LASIK is a popular and commonly performed method of vision correction that is relatively painless and provides almost immediate results after surgery. "Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis" surgery - abbreviated LASIK - uses a laser beam to physically reshape the cornea to correct the imperfections that cause blurred vision. Additionally, for those patients who qualify, wave-front guided LASIK, or CustomVue, brings a whole new level of precision and accuracy to LASIK surgery. Often, this surgical reshaping can reduce or even eliminate the need for glasses or contact lenses. Nearsighted, farsighted and astigmatic patients may potentially benefit from LASIK surgery.
