Managed Care
Through EyeAmerica, IPA, DVC doctors and affiliated optometrists and ophthalmologists provide primary vision, medical, surgical and refractive care to more than 600,000 members.
- Eye America, IPA is a non-profit independent practice association that represents more than 235 provider locations in NC.
- Managed care organizations (MCOs) contract with Eye America, IPA to develop vision, medical-surgical and industrial safety programs that are integrated with their health care services.
- Eye America, IPA utilizes accepted NCQA policies and procedures to credential all of its participating doctors.

Vision Care Direct (VCD)
Looking for a voluntary benefit that employees can finance through payroll deductions? Vision Care Direct can provide comprehensive eye care for a price your employees can afford!
- VCD is a qualified Section 125 – Voluntary vision program that employers offer to their employees through a payroll deduction process. It is also appropriate for employers that are administering Health Savings Accounts.
- Chose the option that works best for your company. There are a variety of exam and prescription eyewear benefits available through VCD. Each employee receives a program cost-benefit analysis, enrollment brochures and provider directory.
- DVC sales representatives help each employer plan the enrollment process, conduct employee meetings and benefit presentations to help employees evaluate which VCD option is best suited to their needs.
