Doctors Vision Center Recommended Eyeglass Lenses

Varilux Physio Enhanced
The first Varilux lens was pioneered nearly 50 years ago and has continued to innovate. Today, it is the most technologically advanced progressive eyeglass lenses available in the world and protected by eight different patents. When you wear Varilux lenses, you are guaranteed the best technology available for people over 40 with presbyopia – a condition in which near vision becomes increasingly blurred with age. Varilux progressive lenses provide clear vision at all distances without unsightly bifocal lines.

W.A.V.E Technology (Wavefront Advanced Vision Enhancement)
Varilux has adapted the same wavefront technology used in laser surgery (LASIK surgery) to correct vision by eliminating minor distortions in the lens.
W.A.V.E. Technology uses a patented design process that analyzes a full beam of light as it passes through each area of the lens. As the light passes through the lens, the light is analyzed to identify and remove small distortions in each area of the lens. This technology allows Varilux Physio to offer a progressive lens with the sharpest visual fields possible.

“Dr. Watson had me try the atLast! Lenses. They were perfect from the minute that I put them on. There was no adjustment period, and all the areas that I needed to see were large and in focus.”
George Kasperek,
Greenville, North Carolina

AtLast! Multifocal Lenses
If you currently wear bifocals with a line, you may notice a limitation on your range of vision. Doctors Vision Center is excited to be one of the first to offer a revolutionary solution for bifocal wearers – atLast! Enhanced Multifocal. This lens provide wide, clear, vision from close-up to five feet away, with less jump than lined bifocals. It’s not a progressive lens but a clear solution to eliminate those pesky lines.

Experience Transitions Lenses

Experience Transitions Lenses

Transitions eyeglass lenses help optimize your sight in every light as they quickly lighten or darken depending on the amount of UV rays present.

Transitions Photochromic lenses
Transitions lenses are as clear as regular clear lenses indoors and at night – and as dark as most sunglasses outdoors in bright sunlight. They fit virtually all frame styles, including the latest fashion frames, and with most types of lens materials and designs. With the help of your Doctors Vision Center eye care professional, you’re sure to find the Transitions lenses that provide the everyday convenient protection, visual quality and comfort you are looking for.

Spend more of your day outdoors than indoors? Transitions® XTRActive™ lenses may be right for you. Transitions XTRActive lenses are the darkest everyday photochromic lens and have a moderate tint behind the windshield.

Crizal Avance
Crizal Avance lenses with Scotchgard Protector reduce nighttime glare from headlights/streetlights and fight reflections from computers and overhead lights. These lenses repel stains, dirt and smudges better than any other lens, making them the easiest to clean. Crizal lenses are specially designed, using revolutionary integrated methods that combine non-glare properties with industry-leading, double-sided scratch resistance. Crizal lenses are clearer, so wearers can look better, see better and feel better!

Lens Designs
Single Vision Available in all materials, single vision lenses can be used for either distance or near vision correction. No-line Progressive Lenses No-line, all-in-one progressive lenses, giving the appearance of single vision lenses, that correct for far, intermediate, and near vision. Our doctors recommend Varilux Progressives. Bifocal Lenses Bifocal lenses provide both far and near correction in one lens with visible lines. Computer Lenses Computer lenses correct the unique eye conditions of the computer user, enhancing your vision while reducing the eyestrain caused by glare. Sport Lenses Sport eyewear can be customized for every sport to maximize safety and clear vision. Our doctors always recommend polycarbonate lenses for both adults and children.
Lens Materials
Plastic Lighter weight than glass, plastic lenses can be tinted to almost any color and shade. High-Index For those with strong prescriptions, technologically advanced high-index lenses offer a thinner and lighter choice, are more comfortable and cosmetically desirable. Polycarbonate Polycarbonate lenses are lightweight, are thinner than plastic, are the most impact-resistant and offer ultraviolet protection. We recommend these lenses for children, teens and active adults. Photochromic Lenses Photochromic lenses darken and lighten depending on whether the wearer is in the sun or indoors and are available in virtually all lens materials and designs. Our doctors recommend Transitions lenses. Safety Lenses When combined with a safety frame, these lenses are designed to protect your eyes from injury. Whether at your job or working in your home workshop, safety lenses offer maximum protection.
Lens Options
UV Protection All of our lenses come with UV protection and shield your eyes from harmful, ultraviolet rays. Scratch-resistant Lenses All of our lenses come with scratch resistant coatings. Some materials, such as polycarbonate, and high index lenses include scratch protection. Non-glare Lenses Non-glare lenses appear invisible and help reduce eye fatigue. See up to 75% more detail than you will with uncoated lenses. Tinted Lenses Available in a rainbow of colors, lenses can be tinted from light to very dark. Aspheric Lenses Aspheric lenses eliminate the magnification or minification of the eyes. As the eyes move, vision remains clear rather than "blurs out" when looking away from the center of the lens.
